Kalbi - One Of My Mother's (And Hana's) Favorite Meals

Song:  Lazy Calm

Artist:  Cocteau Twins (single artist)

My mother loves to look out at her backyard waterfall at night.

I had installed a photoelectrically controlled lighting system earlier last year...
so my mother could enjoy seeing it whenever she wishes.

After I had taken these backyard photos...
I then started on supper.

Trader Joe's has the best Kalbi I have found.

It makes a meal for two for under $10.

King's Spicy Kimchi is the best tasting Kimchi I have found...
outside of Korea.

Kimchi is a must when eating Korean barbecue.

As you can see...
I hadn't started cooking until after 2 AM.

This particular meal demands two large skillets...
as each piece of meat is rather large.

I cook them on medium high.

They are ready to eat after cooking each side for approximately 5 minutes each.

I try to have my mother eat a good beef dish about once a week.

Beef is high in certain nutrients which cannot be found in the required amounts
in other dishes.

So...
my mother looks forwards to the beef dishes with great anticipation...
and delight.

These are just some of the bones and fat that Hana gets to eat
every time I cook Kalbi.

When Hana smells the meat cooking...
she goes to the kitchen area as her mouth salivates heavily
in anticipation for her meal to come.

As you can see...
Hana really loves the bones.

They are filled with delicious marrow...
and I always include with each bone...
plenty of fat, and some meat, for her to savor and enjoy.

Right after Hana eats...
she then stretches out and relaxes on her favorite spot.

I love dogs.

There is nothing more pure hearted in this world...
than children and dogs.

They are just so similar.

They, both...
love to please.

And so...
both respond to kindness and love...
with kindness and love.
