My Mother's New Car / Duck Pond / Sushi

Song:  Dream Chasers

Group:  Future World Music

My mother picked up her new Kia Sorento today.

It is the same model as is mine...
except it seats 7.

Both of my sisters are moving to Reno.

We may take all in this car should we decide to go into the mountains
to enjoy the day.

Although my mother doesn't drive anymore...
I wanted her to have a safe car to ride in.

My sisters' cars are not nearly so safe to ride in as is this car.

So...
whenever they drive her anywhere...
they will drive her in her car.

The car is a dark metallic flake platinum graphite.

I insisted on her having a safe car to ride in...
as it has the highest safety rating...
and it also has the highest reliability rating.

As it is an all wheel drive with on the fly locking differential for very loose and deep sand
or snow...I can be assured she will be able to be transported in as safe
and dependable conditions as possible.

We left the dealership to go to the duck pond and then to eat sushi afterwards.

I decided to take the scenic route there.

We took an old country road.

We arrived at the duck pond a short time afterwards.

We had taken a full box of crackers to feed the ducks.

In this picture...
it looks as if she would have a good throw all the way to the water...
but no...
the crackers she had tried to throw only ended up a few feet in front of her  :)

After all of the crackers were gone...
it was time to eat.

It was a beautiful day.

We enjoyed a good meal...
and I then took her home.

My mother is now all set to enjoy seeing her daughters on an almost daily basis.

She is very happy about this.

My sisters are also excited about their future in Reno.

My Mother's And Elder Sister's New Real Estate Purchases

Song:  Flight Of The Imagination

Group:  Future World Music

My mother had just signed a purchase contract for another home she will use as another
rental in Reno.

The below pictures of my mother's home and one my elder sister will buy are of the
as of yet incomplete models.

Their homes will be just down the street...
and they have also, yet to be built.

This model home in the below picture has a three car garage...
but right now, they are going to use it as a sales office.

However, the same elevations are the ones they had purchased.

This home just below is the same model as my mother's.

I had been taking her around to see new homes...
but these new ones are the best in Reno for the money.

They have an excellent location near the gateway to California...
yet only 10 minutes to downtown Reno...
and there are mountain views everywhere.

My elder sisters house will be just two doors down from my mother's investment home.

My sister will be moving in her house...
while my mother will be renting her's out.

She is thinking of renting it out to corporations for their executives.

On this day...
I had taken my wife to see my mother's and elder sister's new purchases.

She also loved both of the houses.

Just to the right a little ways...
both houses are going to be built.

These mountains in the above and below pictures will be their view from the backyard.

Another set of mountains will be their view from the front.

This is a picture of her front door from the inside.

What I had especially liked about this model was its high ceilings...
open layout...
and the amount of windows...
which makes it very well lit from natural lighting.

It gives a sense of great expanse and freedom inside.

It also takes advantage of the views.

My mother's house is a one story 3 bedroom 3 full bath home.
This is a picture of one of the bedrooms.

This is a picture of the living room.

The cabinets pictured are an option my mother did not buy.

This is a picture of the living room looking out onto the backyard covered porch.

The large sliding doors pictured is another option my mother did not get.

However, large picture windows will be in its place.

This is a picture of the dining room.

This is a picture of the covered backyard porch.

It is perfect to view the mountains.

The kitchen comes with stainless steel appliances.

I had not taken enough photos of the kitchen.

It also has a lot of appliances to my right...
and a very large walk in pantry.

This is a picture of the master bedroom.

It is larger than in this picture...
as I could not get it all in the photo.

The master bath is also large.

It will come with a shower and a large soaking tub...
a double sink...
and a separate toilet room.

This is a picture of the laundry room.

This is of the master bedroom walk in closet.

We then walked out the front door to see my sister's model.

This same model is my elder sister's home.

My sister's husband especially liked the upper balcony.

He will take photos of the summer sunset from there.

During winter...
he will take sunset pictures from the backyard.

Theirs will be a 4 bedroom 3 full bath home.

The upstairs two bedrooms will be for when their sons visit.

As only my sister and her husband will be living here...
her husband will convert the extra downstairs bedroom...
into his game room.

He has a large custom pool table...
and he wants to buy a pinball machine  :)

This is their dining room, living room, and kitchen areas.

My elder sister still has to pick out the color and options for her home.

This is their pantry.

My sister is going to get the outdoor back covered patio fireplace option.

They plan to spend many a day and night just looking out at the mountains from theirs.

This will be their master bedroom.

The master bed room has a his and her set of walk in closets.

This is one of the bedrooms.

This is one of the upstairs bedrooms.

And this is the covered upstairs porch.

My mother's model of her home is on the left...
my elder sister's model of her house is just next to it.

These houses have the great outdoors at their door step...
yet, they are just 10 minutes away from a major hospital...
and they are about the same time away from my mother's home in the mountains.

My sister will be less than an hour from Lake Tahoe and many major ski resorts...
less than half an hour from Donner Lake...
and about twenty minutes from Boca and Stampede reservoirs.

I had seen this development just a short time ago...
and I knew that it would be a great investment for my mother...
and a great place for my elder sister to live.

I got both of them to see the models.

Both of them were sold on the idea within minutes.

Great location...
great views...
great homes.

You cannot go wrong with these winning combinations.

My mother bought her's in the first phase of development...
and my sister's will be built in the second phase.

There will be a total of 18 phases...
and the price goes up with each phase.

Within 3 years...
just from the phase equity alone...
they will go up over $100,000.00.

As this is also one of the most desirable areas to live in Reno...
their value will also increase beyond this amount.

More and more Californians are moving to Reno to retire.

Reno is in the top 40 best places to live in the US.

It is much higher in standings if you just consider
it in the retirement category.

Living well in your retirement years depends heavily upon proper prior planning.

You must always consider the basics when buying real estate.

Again...bought early...
a great location...
great views...
and great homes...
equals...
a great investment...
because...
if you would want to live there...
so would many others.

This is all part of aging and living well.
