The chronicling of my 80 year old mother (as of 2019) as she lives a new life of health and mental well being, and a description of the path she is now walking so others may also experience the magic of the simple pleasures in life.
We were at home...
I had just fed the dogs...
and my mother looked up at me and simply said...
"Let's go on a country drive."
I looked at her and simply said...
"Get your shoes on."
We stopped in at our favorite burger joint on the way...
and I then drove to Lake Tahoe on the northeastern entrance and I then headed
north along the road which circles Lake Tahoe.
It was a nice sunny day...
so, I drove with the windows down once we reached Lake Tahoe.
Although my mother loved the country drive...
as I drove along one of the most beautiful lakes in the world to our left...
and with picturesque mountains filled with emerald trees to our right...
I had found my mother nodding off in her seat :)
No...No.
Not there.
She was not going to miss the best part of the drive.
I awakened her many a time.
The fresh air and the idyllic setting made her drowsy :)
We drove into Tahoe City...
and I stopped at the Truckee River headwaters.
I parked and I took my mother on a short walk so she could
see the actual headwaters of the Truckee River.
My mother enjoyed her little walk.
The air was a nice temperature and a cool fresh breeze was blowing.
This little walk refreshed her...
so she no longer nodded off the rest of our little drive.
The headwaters of the Truckee River...
straight from Lake Tahoe.
Lake Tahoe contains some of the clearest water in the world...
and most of the water for Reno...
comes from here.
All in all...
the short drive was a little over 2 hours round trip.
It was a nice relaxing country drive...
and this satisfied her.
The rest of the night...
she relaxed on the sofa and watched her favorite channel...
