My Mother Feeding The Ducks

Song and Artist Unknown

As we had liked the duck pond on the previous night...
we had prepared some items for this night's duck feeding fest.

I had bought the cereals for when we decide to go back on short notice...
and we won't have time to pop corn.

Besides, we had found that the ducks really like the bread more so than the popcorn.

I am sure they will really like the crackers also.

We used my mother's hot air corn popper.

My mother loves popcorn.

I had bought extra as we like to watch dramas and eat popcorn.

My mother kept eating the popcorn :)

We took this bag full of popcorn...
and the bread.

In a short time...
ducks had come from across the pond to feed.

I had my mother throw the bread...
while I threw the popcorn...by the fistful.

This goose was funny.

He had gone behind my mother and kept tugging on her jacket...
trying to get her attention because he favored the bread over the popcorn.

I ended up feeding him some bread.

We finished up the bread, however, we still had some popcorn left over.

As soon as my mother stopped throwing bread...
the majority of the ducks swam off.

After feeding the ducks...
we sat and relaxed for a while.

We then drove a little ways to an all you can eat sushi place for supper.

We got a primo parking space.

We ate our fill of delicious sushi.

I then took my mother home.

As I was tired...
I then came home.

We will, every so often, go back to feed the ducks.

It was a nice outing for my mother.

She had really enjoyed our day together.

Supper At Zozo's

Song:  Che Vuole Questa Musica Stasera

Artist:  Peppino Gagliardi

For this night's supper...
my mother's realtor and I had arranged to have supper
with her and her parents.

I thought it would be good for my mother to meet some people her age.

We had set up for us to meet at this restaurant in town.

My mother and I had ordered the Chicken Parmesan (It was a huge portion).

My mother's realtor is on the right...
and her parents are next to her.

My mother had a very good time.
The meal was also very good...
and they gave plenty of food.

Her father and I had gotten along right away.
He was very friendly.

Her mother was very nice.
She has a very sweet demeanor and personality.

This is my mother's realtor...Cindy Brenner of Krch Realty.

My mother had used her to buy 3 houses here in Reno.

She is a very hard worker.
She had treated my mother well, and she coordinated with us very well.

She had made the buying process quite painless.
Everything went well for my mother when she bought her properties
here in Reno, a couple of years ago.

Her father practices magic...
and he does volunteer magic shows at a retirement facility.

He had done some magic tricks for us at the table.

He was a lot of fun.

After our supper...
the father told us of a lake nearby.

I had never been to it before.

So...
on the way home...
my mother and I had stopped by.

As soon as we arrived...
ducks started swimming towards us.

I felt bad...
as they had thought we were there to feed them.

I decided to take my mother back on the morrow.

We will take some bread and crackers...
and perhaps, some popcorn.

We will then feed them for a while.

My mother is happy that we will be going back tomorrow.
She loves animals.

So...
you can guess what my next article will be  :)

Dinner At The Texas Roadhouse

Song:  Fire On The Mountain

Group:  The Marshall Tucker Band

Last night...
I took my mother out to the Texas Roadhouse for supper.

Every so often...
we wish to explore other restaurants.

Although there were problems with our meal...
I was very pleased in how the management had handled it.

The rolls were hot and delicious.

We always drink non-alcoholic beer with our suppers.

We had ordered medium WELL Prime Ribs.

We got them...
and they were medium RARE!

I called over the waiter.

He apologized...
and took them back.

A few minutes later...
he brought them back...
and they were still medium rare.

The waiter got the assistant manager.

The assistant manager came over and apologized.

She then took them back to the kitchen.

A few minutes later...
she brought them back.

This time the manager came with them.

I immediately cut into it...
and found that, although it was done well enough...
it still was not medium well (it was more medium).

The manager apologized.

He said that a dedicated steak house should get it right the first time...
never mind not getting it right after the third time.

He had asked me if I wanted to have them try it again.

I said NO!

I was hungry...
and it was good enough  :)

The manager then said he would take 50% off the bill for having had us wait
for something that should have been done right the first time.

I thanked him.

That is the way to correctly manage problems!

I ended up tipping the waiter as if it were a full price dinner.

The waiter was not at fault.

No doubt the cook was inexperienced.

Any way...
two meals for the price of one.

It turned out to be a good night.

We took all of the trimmings to Hana...
and she had quite a feast that night.

On the way home...
I had seen a peek-a-boo sunset.

---------

I had gotten back from an almost one week trip a few days ago.

My elder sister had stayed with my mother until I had gotten back.

The day after I got back...
I took them shooting at my favorite shooting place.

In Nevada...
so long as you shoot safely...
you are out of the city limits...
and you are at least 1 mile away from any residences...
you may put up targets and set up your own shooting range.

This is where I go to set up my targets to shoot.

My brother in law took his Springfield 45 semi auto pistol.

We were firing at the tiny metal rotating targets...
and various limbs of the dead tree.

Next time I go....
I will take out my Mossberg 590 shotgun...
my Ruger SP 101 357...
and my son's scoped Marlin 795 22.

My brother in law is a retired NCO in the Army.

My elder sister had fun shooting.

The metal target got bent up a bit.

I will be getting a better target in the future.

I am thinking of taking my mother out to the mountains just at the end of her street
to teach her Archery, soon.

I will first have to take her to a sports store to get a child's bow...
as the one I have for Alex is too heavy of a draw for her.

We will be able to shoot near her home...
as just a few houses away...
the mountain trails start.
