Triple Play: Easy Sequential Cooking - II

Song:  On Your Shore

Artist:  Enya

By the time I had arrived at my mother's house for the second day of the triple play...
it had begun to snow.

Within a short period...
the snowfall had gotten heavier.

As we had shopped for all the necessary ingredients
at Super Walmart the day prior...
we were all set to start cooking.

I recommend the thick spaghetti.

This is the way it should be.

They only started selling the thinner spaghetti to allow
shorter cooking times.

A few minutes more will give you a far superior dish.
Just take the extra five or so minutes to cook the noodles.
Never sacrifice quality for economy.

For the sauce...
I like Prego...
and the Prego Spicy Sausage is especially flavorful.

If you enjoy cooking...
by all means, make your own sauce.

I am not a particularly good cook...
just an efficient and economical one.

These are some of the leftovers
(the tomatoes will be part of this meal also).

The only cooking to be done is the noodles...
and the warming up of the sauce.

The noodles took 17 minutes or so
(as we live more than 1 mile in elevation...
we must add approximately 1 minute per 1,000 feet in elevation...
and so, we have to cook anything which boils, about 5 - 6 minutes longer).

We used the rest of the previous night's ground beef for the meat sauce.

We had used the rest of the tacos' ingredients for the salad.

Notice the dressing we had made earlier.

It is especially delicious.
There is no store bought dressing which can compare.

This dressing is so flavorful...
so tangy, and just bursting with mouthwatering spices...
it is hard to imagine that this is also one of the most healthful of dressings.

My mother drained the noodles...
and it was almost time to eat.

As we had made one full package of spaghetti noodles...
there would be plenty left for the final meal of the triple play.

Although we rarely drink alcohol...
(the beer we drink is non - alcoholic)...
a half glass of wine with spaghetti is almost a necessity  :)

We are ready to eat.

These are the leftovers from the spaghetti meal.

My mother put them away in the fridge for later meals
(Always use glass to store leftovers.  We use Pyrex...
they do not absorb food taste or smell...
and the food may be reheated in them).

The spaghetti noodles will be used for the following day's supper...
the meat sauce will be for another day's lunch...
over bread for a Sloppy Joe style meal.

After our supper...
I had looked out at how much snow had built up.

As I had a half glass of wine...
and I would not drive for a few hours more...

we had a couple small cups of warmed unfiltered sake
(this is the only type I like to drink on occasion. It is filled with flavor.
The regular filtered sake we use for cooking)...

and enjoyed a couple of movies  :)

On the final day of the triple play...
it took but two minutes to make:

Mentaiko (spicy cod roe pasta).
